Some random moments on the ATP Tour from a random kinda guy!

I thought I would just brainstorm some random moments that have given me jokes over the years in tennis! You know, those kinds of moments you have watched over and over again on Youtube, at times ending up on the floor.

Milos Raonic  (Muzza/Monaco) – It was the player’s party in Monte Carlo in 2013 and though Raonic rightly gets the credit here, there are several players who have played an absolute blinder in aiding him! Rafa is getting involved, but gotta love Juan Monaco and Muzza in particular, the looks and moves say it all!  Steve Darcis and Rohan Bopanna are giving it some with the racket too! Fair play lads, great effort!

Marat Safin – Paris 2004 was the scene! Marat Safin v Felix Mantilla in the second round ended 11/9 in the decider to the Russian in over 4 hours. This point and celebration is my favourite of the lot! Having received a point penalty for his ‘shorts down’ reaction he commented “I felt it was a great point for me, I felt like pulling my pants down. What’s bad about it?” What an absolute legend this geezer is!

Jack Sock- Several ‘moves’ from Sock this year and I am impressed! Two spring to mind, the moves after beating Nishikori in Indian Wells and Robin Haase at Wimbledon, both this year! Performances like this will see me being a Sock fan for years to come! These are exactly the kind of random moments I love! Banter!

Mikhail Youzhny –  Whilst playing Nicolas Almagro in an incredibly tight affair in Miami in 2008 the Russian had a moment of absolute madness. Sadly, I cannot find the original clip with the sky sports commentary which was absolutely priceless! I cannot remember if it was Chris Bailey/Mark Petchey with Leif Shiras in the commentary box. The pair proceeded to talk about the point saying how much that must have hurt Youzhny mentally, which was spot on for how Youzhny looked physically! The pair were both bewildered when they realised what had happened! Almagro also offered some banter saying how he would have done exactly the same as the Russian!

Andy Roddick – In 2002 the A-Rod really came up with the goods with this prime time play on the Louis Armstrong in NYC! Trailing by a set to Juan Ignacio Chela he turned the match on its head with this point! Not only did this show Roddick at his gutsy and never say die best, the celebration that follows was quite simply superb! It sums up Andy Roddick in a nutshell! Watch those bandy wheels go!

Oscar Hernandez/Stefan Koubek vs Daniel Koellerer – Now Daniel Koellerer was well known for his temper and for being a wind-up merchant, in his days prior to a lifetime ban for match fixing!  Oscar Hernandez gloating after beating him in Santiago 2005 was pretty special,  a little dance and some choice language as they exchanged words after.  His last comment will stick with me! Stefan Koubek went one further by grabbing his fellow countryman by the neck, at the change of ends in an Austrian Club match in 2010. Koubek was defaulted for his worries! Apparently, Dani had smacked Koubek’s racket out of his hand previous to this!

On a final note, I felt Fabio had to make it into this list but like Safin, there are so many moments, so just enjoy this for a few more random bits of magic from the Italian!
